Observation 4430: Neolentinus kauffmanii (A.H. Sm.) Redhead & Ginns
When: 2007-01-08
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Previously known as Lentinus kauffmanii. Found growing on a fallen log, most likely Sitka spruce. Difficult to id with complete certainty but it does fit the descriptions in the Pacific Northwest Key Council as well as others. The combination of cap color, serrated gill edges, spore size and shape and habitat were the key points for me.
