I had seen dry sort of white fungus before that were similar to this, but these were all of a darker color with fleshy gills.

They sure did, I was thinking they were Stereum ostrea also, but noted the bluish color and the gills.

I will go back to this spot in a couple days and take a more detailed picture with a better camera. These were growing right in the middle of my morel hunting grounds.

These had gills??

They look like Trametes versicolor, which would have pores, or Stereum ostrea, which would have neither.
