Observation 4447: Bolbitius vitellinus (Pers.) Fr.

When: 2007-10-17

Collection location: Menlo Park, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

Specimen available

Cute little yellow guys, popping up in irrigated lawns. From the side here they look kinda yellow-brown, from the gills showing through. In the grass, just from the tops, they are bright yellow in the green grass. Nice and viscid-sticky after the lawns have been watered.
