Observation 44739: Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata Guzmán & Gaines
When: 2010-04-24
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Audubon lists P. caerulipes as a late summer/fall mushroom. I think these may be P. ovoideocystidiata. Found what is likely the same species last May, in PA (posted here). Each time a few of these decayed wood inhabitors showed a ring on the stalk, apparently fleeting. Found this current fruting in a hardwood forest of mainly Tulip Poplar, White Ash, oaks, and a few other deciduous trees. The stalk bases have white mycelial threads attached.
