Jason, you are correct regarding two species here. The dark brown stuff (Sticta limbata) definitely has cyphellae on the underside. I’m not so sure about the alleged Lobaria.
The white stuff looks a lot like Lobaria hallii, but the dark brown stuff looks a lot like Sticta limbata (just as you say). I wonder if you have both species all tangled up here? I assume you must’ve seen the little craters underneath at least some of it?
(That boulder is starting to look very familiar. :)
