They are strange tasting, and the texture does remind me of firm tofu.

The last puffballs I marinated in a bag full of buffalo stew overnight. Then drained, patted dry, beer battered, and fried. Mediocre at best, but hey its free food and it can be whatever flavor you want if you marinade.

Pl let me know, last time I tried to cook Calvatia sp it was slimy and unpalatable
Dad took a bit and spit it out lol
