Observation 45217: Laetiporus portentosus (Berk.) Rajchenb.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: I have posted this bracket fungi becaus of its high contrast. It was growing on the end of a sawn log. It was soft to touch, and easily brocken away from the surface. I have shown the underside for viewing. The bracket was about 12cm across on each growth.

Not too good with Autralian polypores, and I don’t have those guides in front of me, but I recall images of_Laetiporus portentosus_ to be similar to yours
