Notes: Found growing under White Oak /Hickory. First Russula of spring. several dozen where in the higher ridges on south sloping slopes. These are very variable in color but all have similar characteristic, Caps are Red to cream with violet tinges. cuticle peeling easily. Taste mildly acrid spore print cream
