I thought these were black trumpets at first but, as Mr. Segraves pointed out, the presence of the vein-like ‘gills’ suggests perhaps these are C. cinereus.

Recognized by sight: Clustered, trumpet-shaped mushroom, growing on sparcely covered soil under mixed conifer and hardwood. Hymenial surface heavily veined, much like a golden chanterelle.
