Collection location: Beaver Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]
This 2" tall mushroom was found in a rather dense stand of conifers. The brownish cap was 2" in diameter, convex and nearly round, and had short hairs. The gills were white and descended the 1/2" diameter stalk. The stalk had a bulbous base 1 1/2″ × 1″ The stalk was longitudinally striated.
I’m calling this Ampulloclitocybe clavipes but would welcome either confimation or rejection for another species.
