I think maybe a ground-dwelling (perhaps root-parasite) polypore. Maybe like a Phaeolus.

Perhaps the yellow was because it was sprayed with Roundup :)

The first photo sort of looks like Armillaria, but the second doesn’t give me any confidence in that determination at all.
