I saw so many little tan mushrooms on this trip, and most seemed to be an amazing variety of forms of Gymnopus dryophilus. I saw this group at the beginning of the walk and was positive they were Marasmius oreades. Now, after looking at all the pictures of G. dryophilus, I’m less sure. I didn’t take pictures of the gills but described them as white and fairly close. The pileus was wider at the apex and there were white spores present.
