These were pretty fresh, so the odour was not horrible. I find that the odour becomes more pungent and unpleasant as the mushroom ages.

The scent was disagreeable. Though this weekend I realized that most people cannot smell a lot of mushrooms. Almost all of the mushrooms I smelled had some odour, although some times faint. Though I was the only one (out of usually 5-10) that could smell quite a few species. So I don’t know, everyone’s senses are different.

How did they smell? I was talking with Debbie about some that I had found last year, she asked me how they smelled I said not bad. I guess some collections smell bad, I was just curious because I have never collected any with a bad odor.
