The red staining would key out Amanita amerimuscaria, Amanita amerirubescens is abundant at this time of the year and is a wonderful edible.

Anyone who reads this—-I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING ANY AMANITA SPECIES UNLESS YOU ARE A SEASONED HUNTER AND ARE 110% SURE OF YOUR ID!!!
