Observation 4651: Neolentinus kauffmanii (A.H. Sm.) Redhead & Ginns

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Id’ed by Dr. Desjardin, by the shape, color, and the serate gill edges. These were fairly small, cap was about 1-1.5 cm in size. It took a few shots to get a clear veiw of the gill edges in these small guys.

Looking about more info on these, it seems that they are only found on rotting Sitka spruce logs. Which there were plenty up there.
