Observation 4653: Phaeocollybia olivacea A.H. Sm.

These were collected by a student, and they didn’t dig down far enough, so these have only the top half of the stipe.

They kinda had the size and stature of a Hygrocybe. But the pointed tight cap shape makes it more a Phaeocollybia, and if I got a spore print it isn’t white.

The professors were talking a recent work were these are turning out to be a complex of species from DNA study.
