Observation 46851: Agrocybe praecox group

No herbarium specimen

Notes: I am finding these in small groups of 1-4 or so. There are often several groups within a 2 yard area and all in or very near wood chips. The surrounding area is native prairie grasses and flowers. The spore print is chocolate brown. They look very much like the typical button mushrooms in a supermarket. The smell is pleasant and begs me to eat a bit….
