Many found on ground on moist ground under Acer negundo. Largest were between 5-6 cm long and 2-3 cm wide; the youngest were buff/light tan, mature cups were darker brown; asci tips were not amyloid when iodine solution was used as a Melzer’s substitute.

Experience with iodine?

How much experience with iodine solutions and microscopy do you have? Would you expect to see amyloid reactions? If there aren’t any amyloid reactions then this isn’t a Peziza.
