Observation 47242: Agaricus L.
When: 2010-06-20
No herbarium specimen

Notes: A pair of medium size gilled and stalked mushrooms were found in deciduous woods beside a dead log. The caps were 3-4" across, were convex and appeared to be hairy. The top was whitish with darker spots and the closely spaced gills were very dark colored; either dark brown or black (They had deteriorated badly before I got them home). One specimen had an extensive partial veil extending from the cap margin to a ring high on the stalk. The other had only some remnants of veil on the stalk ring. There were no ridges or rings low on the stalk, nor was there a cup there. The lower stalk was somewhat enlarged.
