Debbie, since you did the scope work for this one, do you by any chance have photos? Or can you confirm that it did check out to be G. cooperi? I’m trying to add it to the UC database now and there’s some confusion on the label. Thanks!
You must be named on the Yosemite permit or with someone so named to be able to legally collect in Yosemite. BAMS (the Bay Area Mycological Society, our East Bay club) is having another camping/collecting trip in late August up at Tuolumne Meadows, for some high elevation/end of summer collecting. Interested parties with field skills can contact me off list to attend.
I have found this one my self…good eating if you aren’t picking in YNP and you don’t mind a bit of grit. :D
BTW did you dig for it or just find it poking through the ground?
BTW with this YNP thing can any mycologist register or some thing to make herbarium specimens and collections like you are doing?
