Photo taken 6/27/2010. Boletus, Section Boletus, Subsection Boleti, in Smith’s classification. Note that stem is reticulate at the top. Fat approximately equal stem, cap 6 cm, height 8.5, stem 2.3 cm broad at top, tapers slightly below, pores and flesh white. Did not get spores overnight. I would appreciate a name for this.

I agree with Walt, Boletus variipes, like a pale Boletus edulis only it lives with oak instead of conifer.
