Maybe the toughnesss of the context

was due to the fruit bodies dehydrating in situ. Shape/color/stature matches pretty well with Otidea.

and haven’t considered any potential IDs yet. But Otidea sounds like a good start. These cups were tough/leathery and not fragile.
