Observation 48122: Cortinarius cylindripes Kauffman
When: 2010-07-05
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This is very common in the oak opening at Walking Iron. In contrast to most of the Cortinarii that I find that I have little confidence in determining the species, I do not doubt that it is what Kauffman called C. cylindripes. It is in Section Myxacium. I did not bring any back home because it is recognizable on sight.
