Observation 48147: Stropharia hardii G.F. Atk.

When: 2010-06-18

Collection location: Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Hamilton (ham)

Specimen available

I can’t decide if these are Stropharia kauffmanii or Stropharia hardii. I think that they might be something else. The mushrooms are dry overall. Small scales on the cap. Growing in small groups from decaying hardwood chips. What do ya’ll think?

The description does mention an annulus, which is conspicuousy missing from this collection. Doesn’t appear to be handled a lot or anything like that.
