Observation 4925: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Fruiting in a lawn. Identified by cinnamon brown spore print, scanty web-like veil remnants on stipe. Note interesting globbing of spores on the gills. Gill attachment is sinuate, slightly decurrent. The pileus wasn’t viscid when found or after remoisturization at home.

The nearest tree is an english walnut—about15 feet away.

Okay, there’s a very pathetic looking oak in the next yard.

Corts will be in relation to a tree, it would be good to get down what trees were near by. Like anyone is going to id these, but you posted them…
