Observation 49354: Clavaria zollingeri Lév.
When: 2010-07-24
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Or is it Clavulina amethystina? Michael Kuo says that they can be indistinguishable except microscopically, with amethystina having two spored basidia and spores 7-12 microns long and zollingeri having four spored basidia and spores 4-7 microns long. I did not look at the spores, whichever it is, they are pretty, especially when they are young, like these.
