Boletus subvelutipes shown here (hand-painted!!) has various reactions to chemicals that are so-so on consistency.
KOH- on cap is bright red, light orange on flesh, darker orange on pores
Ammonia- is orange on cap, almost negative on flesh, light orange on pores
FESO4- is olive black on cap, yellow on flesh, and dingy gray on pores.
