it looks like a very plausible match for M. flava, but seeing the teeth would make it official. I didn’t even know to check for them until I read a description after having found/handled several, thinking it was just smooth-hymeniumed. My vote is with M. flava too.

I didn’t look closely at the hymenium at the time, but so far I haven’t found anything that looks as similar as M. flava

has a toothed hymenium. They’re tiny, but unmistakable.

In texture, it was just a leathery-fleshy, fairly thin piece of tissue, like dried out Auricularia.
