Recognized by sight: that which has historically been referred to as G. lucidum in China is now considered to be G. sichuanense. G. lucidum is a European species.

Recognized by sight: There are around 40 laccate Ganoderma spp. reported from China, split roughly down the middle in terms of light vs. dark context tissues. differentiating between them is touted as being among the most difficult of tests of one’s polypore mettle.
