Notes: Location: 50°41’19.46"N, 115° 7’57.91"W, el. 1672m

Identification: Cladonia with brown apothecia and non-sorediate, stalk-like podetia with squamules and definite cups (which takes us to the 5th of 7 Cladonia keys in McCune and Geiser). Possibilities include Cladonia ecmocyna (cortex K+ clear yellow) and Cladonia gracilis (cortex K-) (McCune and Geiser, 2009, p.86)

I’d lean toward Cladonia ecmocyna

In my limited experience C. gracilis has at least some large apothecia.
