Observation 50089: Pleurotus dryinus (Pers.) P. Kumm.
When: 2010-08-02
Who: wbwarner
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Tough and dense, but easily cut. Growing on a living oak along the road, perhaps 20m from the (intermittent) stream. This is a potentially new host for a pleasing fungus beetle (Triplax sp.), so any help with the species identity would be greatly appreciated. Specimen will be donated to the Arizona State University herbarium
