Habitat: Growing on exposed rock strata on a cobble beach within a few meters of the ocean. There are enormous sea bird colonies in the immediate vicinity.
Identification: Bright orange Xanthoria with narrow, radiating, convex lobes and numerous apothecia growing on seaside rocks and cliffs.
