Notes: Found at Charmlee County Park during a foray sponsored by the Los Angeles Mycological Society. Sight id’ed based on cap color and volva structure.

Recognized by sight: Based on its occurrence in North America and similarity to the European Amanita pantherina. However, it does seem rather pale and the cap ornamentation is rather flat, but that may just be due to the weather.
