but don’t feel too bad, they almost never get home all of a piece, especially a grisette of that size and heft. you captured it at its most beaatiful.

There were about 5 of these growing in a small area.

The volval sac is too robust and too white for a mature specimen of A. constricta which has a graying, cracking, collapsing sac. I don’t know what this is from the picture.

Is it correct that there is no herbarium specimen?
