Notes: I noticed a family mushroom hunting in the area and identified all their mushrooms for them. Later they found these and brought us to the place where they found them.

stromatal surface. Ascomycetes don’t have pileipelli (or pilei).

The pileipellis difference tends to give T. longisegmentum a shiny appearance, which appears to be what we have here. I have measured the spores of a couple Mexican collections, and the size was right about in the middle of T. capitatum and T. longisegmentum.

T. capitatum and T. longisegmentum are separated only by spore morphology.
