Recognized by sight: Looks more like Gymnopus, maybe G. subpruinosus.

Recognized by sight: striations halfway to cap center. there seems to be quite a bit of variability in this species, at least insofar as stipe color, and at least insofar as depicted here on MO.

altho the gills do have an edge lighter than their faces, it really isn’t a perfect match to either of those species.

Gymnopus villosipes should have darker gills, with only a light edge to them. The gills here are fairly light all the way through.

I think Gymnopus villosipes is know from the bay area, and spreads outward, and Gymnopus subpruinosus is know more from the PNW, and spreads down… but that might be pretty rough. But I wouldn’t vote for Gymnopus villosipes on these…
