Observation 52366: Amanita flavoconia G.F. Atk.
When: 2010-09-08
(45.800473° -77.14222° )
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Two of three Amanitas found growing in Zone 56, none fully mature. Zone 56 is mixed woods and definitely contains the most ubiquitous local conifers (Abies balsamea, Pinus resinosa, Pinus strobus) and hardwoods (Acer sp., Betula papyrifera). I need to go back soon and check if it also has Populus tremuloides, a tree usually present where I find Amanita amerimuscaria. If it’s absent it weighs in favor of the other two listed possibilities.
