Observation 52583: Clitocybe
When: 2010-09-01
No herbarium specimen

Notes: These fungi have puzzled me for some time, because they have Cream yellow Spore print and a sweetish odor, obviously Not Clitocybe nuda…
any Ideas? I am thinking Clitocybe species….

I’ve looked at seem to vary, maybe on account of thickness. The one seen here appears to be fairly thick. A pinkish Lepista print begins to take on a tannish appearance when it’s thick… at least that’s what I have observed.

Discussing spore print colors seems to be a rather difficult undertaking. People perceive colors differently, and cameras sometimes do not adequately record the naked eye experience.

I can compare the print seen here (actually on my computer monitor) to the coded colors on my Online Auction Color Chart

not sure if the pictures are displaying it correctly…I thought it was more of a cream almost brownish color,

photos look like what I would call a Lepista print… fleshy pinkish.
