Observation 5265: Tremella foliacea Pers.
When: 2007-11-29
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: huge leafy jelly fungus clumped on large rotted oak log
CAP: ruffled contorted leafyy lobes, bunched loosely together, lobes ~50mm wide, thin (~1mm thick), v soft and flabby, translucent, purplish brown, drying black, smooth but with a faint whitish bloom
Seems hard to believe this huge leafy thing is the same species as the small thick jelly-like thing that was growing on every limb I turned over a few days ago.
