Observation 53066: Lepiota (Pers.) Gray
When: 2010-09-13
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found and id’ed by others at the SMG meeting.

Not quite sure what to make of these, they were put out with the name Lepiota acutesquamosa, and then equated to Echinoderm aspertem (although that might be misspelled.) It seems like that should be Lepiota aspera as the current name. But looking at other id’s of that name, I’m not sure. Not sure if other people might have a better idea on what to call these.

but something in the Echinoderma group. If the cap reaches 10 cm or more, and the ring is well developed, it’s probably Lepiota(Echinoderma) aspera.
