The ’could be" on the naming of this specimen as Phaeolus schweinitzii comes from comparative photos and my weariness with being unable to get into the woods and explore. Mark Prosser

color, I believe. I also think Laetiporus wouldn’t grow that high up.

Inonotus is a decent guess, or possibly a Phaeolus.
