Observation 53470: Agaricus xanthodermus Genev.
When: 2010-09-20
No herbarium specimen

Notes: All over a green area, mixed in with the A. augstus.

Edit 9/22/2010: The odor I had smelled on these mushrooms is what people call phenolic – I did not know what that smelled like but now I do. As was pointed out to me last night at the MSSF meeting, the quick staining to yellow of the younger specimens (that later slowly discolors to brownish unlike the Augustus) coupled with this phenolic odor indicate this is an Agaricus xanthodermus (yellow skin?).
