Are much larger than any Pholiotina species, The genus Descolea is a distinct species in New Zealand and Australia and is readily recognizable, it only occurs naturally in the southern hemisphere.

If the two genera (and I can’t recall hearing of Descolea before) look this much alike, how did you tell them apart?

I guess the macroscopic form does resemble Pholiotina, this is definitely Descolea though.

These look like Pholiotina to me. Look at the rings!
