Alok,

I’ve never seen a button of Amanita orsonii. Do you think that species could be the species in your photos for this observation? It looks like it might be red-staining/bruising on a tan ground color. Did you have a chance to watch it expand further?

I looked at your earlier observation of what I think is orsonii, and I noted the volval material on the stipe and bulb was in rings as is apparent on this button. Also, I recall that this form of volva cause some material from India or Pakistan to be sent to me under the name A. muscaria several years ago.
