Notes: Outrageously abundant in Zone 20 near the 20/19 border. Mainly pine and young aspen close by.
I think there are two varieties of this species in this area: one that associates with aspen and grows mainly in August, and another that grows somewhat larger and in more profuse numbers, associates with pine, and grows in late September.
