It can be Phaeolus. I also don’t know enough to decide for either of the genus; I just express my feeling regarding your proposal.

and elongated pore arrangement was my reasoning for Phaeolus. I’m afraid I don’t know enough about either to assert one or the other with confidence. PS: Onnia is depracated.

I was looking at images of Phaeolus and Onnia and it seems to me that my specimen is more close to the latter than to the former genus. In particular, some images of O. tomentosa are very similar.
