Recognized by sight: Ricardo Valenzuela said that this is Polyporus sensu stricto, however he does not recognize the species and suspects that it might be undescribed.

I’m surprised to hear that. the fruiting bodies were much more coriaceous than any Polyporus sp. I’m familiar with. If I remember correctly, the pore surface may have even been somewhat separable, as in Ganoderma and similar genera. Alas, without a specimen in hand, all is mere speculation. Thanks for nothing, Mushroaming.
