Observation 55118: Cortinarius subgenus Telamonia (Fr.) Trog
When: 2010-10-08
Herbarium specimen reported
0 Sequences

While these were a little over the hill, they were interesting in that they showed what looked like a small volva or pseudo volva at the lower part of the stipe.
They were found in grass near lodgepole pine at about 7000 ft.
Spores were approx. 9.0-10.2 X 6.2-7.0 microns and moderately rough.
KOH reactions are shown in the third photo. Basically, the reaction was negative to a weak brown on the cap.
