Observation 55258: Pholiota limonella (Peck) Sacc.
When: 2010-10-08
No herbarium specimen

Notes: The main reason I going (weakly) with P. limonella is the spore size.
The spore print was bright brown and they were smaller in size than the P. aurivella.
They were ~ 6.7-7.2 X 4.0-5.0 microns with a small germ pore.
The entire mushroom was very slimy and the cap turned red with the application of KOH.
They showed some but not a lot on scaliness on the cap and stem, which is why I’m not real confident of the ID.
