The spines

become longer, the older the mushroom gets. It’s just an unusually small specimen, the size can vary a lot.
Obs 25178 is younger, and coloured almost like Hydnum rufescens. They are sometimes hard to tell apart, but I think that’s repandum as well.

+ As I remember mushroom on linked image did not had as long gills as the one in upper image.
